Eco Spindles in collaboration with the Hemas Group, a diversified corporate in Sri Lanka, launched a significant initiative to enhance waste management and recycling efforts
In February 2024, two Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) were opened in Colombo and Ampara. These facilities focus on collecting PET bottles and other plastic waste, converting them into valuable resources such as high-quality yarn and monofilaments through Eco Spindles’ advanced recycling processes.
The initiative underscores Eco Spindles’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship while also fostering economic opportunities for local communities in Colombo and Ampara. Through this collaborative effort, Eco Spindles and the Hemas Group aim to promote a cleaner and more sustainable future.
